Laura Dent had led the organization for the past three years. She joins a coalition of grassroots organizations
Laura Dent, executive director of Chispa Arizona, which is a program of the League of Conservation Voters, has moved on from the organization. She has joined a new coalition of grassroots organizations to work on a project still in development.
Dent had served in the Chispa position for more than three years. Prior to that she served as chief of staff to Tucson Mayor Regina Romero when Romero was a Tucson City Council member.
Chispa Arizona was established in 2014, with a goal of organizing Latinx community members around issues such as the right to clean air and water, access to public lands, healthy neighborhoods and a safe climate for future generations.
Although no official announcement has been made, Dent said Chispa Arizona will be led by co-directors Vianey Olivarria and Dulce Juárez.
